Shoot for the stars !

 Do you like numbers ? Or hate them ?
I'm not the best mathematician in the world, but I do like to play with numbers sometimes.

These numbers, though, just depress me.

There are currently 300 older children listed on Reece's Rainbow with less than $100 in their adoption grant.

36 of them have ZERO in their grants.

152 of them (188 if you include the zeros) have had ZERO donated to their grant since January 24th of this year.

That means no-one has deemed them worthy of even a couple of dollars in almost SEVEN months.

152 children.
Seven months.

Reece's Rainbow exists to help find families.
While having a huge grant doesn't guarantee a family will step forward, any amount will be a help when a family does decide to adopt a particular child.

Obviously, the bigger the grant, the better - and if a child has no grant at all, a family, if drawn toward that child, won't let that stop them.

However - I have to believe that if a family is ready to adopt, seeing a big fat zero by their child's name must be pretty demoralizing.

Imagine your own children, entering a contest of some kind, where people can vote for the child they think is the cutest, or has the best smile, or drew the best picture, or played the best game - you get the idea.

Imagine that all the other kids get lots of votes, some in the hundreds, some in the thousands.

Your child ?
Zero.
Zip.
Nothing.
Your child gets nothing, it seems that no-one even saw your child's entry.
How would that make you feel ?

That's kind of how I feel about these kids -  the ones that no-one seems to see.
I know we don't all have piles of money laying around, or money trees in the back yard, but we do, most of us, have a few dollars here or there to spare.

Yet - these children - the 152 children whose names are in black below - in almost 7 months, not one person, anywhere, in this entire universe, has felt called to put so much as a dollar in their grant.

Can you help ?

Can you add a few dollars ?

Can you shoot for the stars and see a child who hasn't been seen ?

Maybe share - either this blog, or the profiles of one or two particular children ?
