Zero the zeros !!!: 2013-09-22

Almost two years ago, I wrote my first post for this blog. I know those of you who have been following for a while know the whole story, but if you don't, please go HERE to read about why I started out on this road.

The list you see at that link shows all of the older children who, back in September 2011, had ZERO in their grants. Did you scroll down, and look what they have now ?

I just updated the list today, September 22nd 2013.

Of course - in an ideal world, all of the children would have been adopted by now - but, sadly, they haven't, and all we can do, if we can't step up and adopt ourselves, is advocate for the children, donate to the children, and support those families who are adopting.

Below is a list of all of the older children who currently have less than $100 in their grant. Sadly, as usual, this includes fourteen who have been newly listed, and so have a big, fat, ZERO staring out at us.

You will also see some names that you saw on the list of original zeros.

I am SO sad every single time I see their names, and that their grant STILL isn't growing, that in two years, they still have less than $100. So, so, sad.

These children will stand out in the list below, as I have turned them BLUE because they make me so sad.

The exciting news is all of the children with Down Syndrome, plus a few more from the "Other Angels" and "HIV" categories, will be on the Angel Tree this year. To learn more about how you can help - go HERE !! I'll be talking about the Angel Tree a lot more in the coming weeks and months - but, for now, I'll just share that I will be 13 year old Davian's Christmas Warrior this year !

For now, though, - I ask that if you can, please help a grant grow - maybe you can get rid of a zero or two, or help a child get to the next category !!
